The United Foundation for Global Development (UFGD) was honored to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for Masjid Al Aqsa Rajeg, a new mosque being built in the Rajeg district of Tangerang, Indonesia.
The ceremony marked the beginning of a project envisioned not only as a new house of worship, but as a lasting center for faith, Qur’anic education, dawah, and community life.
Representing UFGD at the ceremony were Mr. Barhum and Mr. Raed, who joined local community leaders, residents, members of the mosque construction committee, and representatives of local government and security agencies for this important occasion.
A Mosque Carrying the Name of Al Aqsa
The decision to name the new mosque Masjid Al Aqsa carries special significance.
Masjid Al Aqsa in Jerusalem holds a cherished place in the hearts of Muslims around the world. By carrying its name, the new mosque in Indonesia represents both devotion to Islam and a powerful expression of love and solidarity with the Palestinian people.
During the ceremony, speakers praised the local community for choosing the name and emphasized that the project represents something greater than the construction of a physical building. It is intended to become a place where worship, knowledge, community, and future generations come together.
Indonesian and Palestinian flags were displayed together during the groundbreaking, offering a moving symbol of the bond between the two peoples.
UFGD Stands With Communities Around the World
UFGD representatives expressed their support for the construction of Masjid Al Aqsa Rajeg and joined the community in celebrating the beginning of this new chapter.
For UFGD, projects like this reflect a broader commitment to strengthening communities through sustainable development, humanitarian service, education, and faith-based initiatives around the world.
A masjid can become far more than four walls and a prayer hall. It can become the heartbeat of a community.
Once completed, Masjid Al Aqsa Rajeg is expected to serve the surrounding community as a place for daily prayer, Islamic education, Qur’an learning, dawah, and other religious and community activities.
Building a Legacy of Sadaqah Jariyah
The construction of the mosque is being supported through community contributions and donations, with organizers calling upon generous supporters to help bring the project to completion.
Supporting the construction and development of a masjid is an opportunity to contribute toward something whose benefit can continue for generations.
Every prayer offered, every child who learns Qur’an, every lesson taught, and every person who finds guidance within its walls can become part of a lasting legacy of Sadaqah Jariyah, insha’Allah.
UFGD extends its prayers and congratulations to the people of Rajeg and everyone working to make Masjid Al Aqsa Rajeg a reality.
May Allah accept the efforts of everyone involved, place barakah in this project, reward its supporters, and make Masjid Al Aqsa Rajeg a beacon of faith, knowledge, unity, and service for generations to come. Ameen.
Together, We Build More Than Structures
From masjids and water wells to schools, humanitarian relief, and community development projects, United Foundation for Global Development (UFGD) works alongside communities around the world to create lasting impact.
Give. Build. Empower. Leave a legacy.
