Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
 
We are reaching out to our brothers and sisters for urgent support for Masjid Muhammad in Cartagena, Colombia, the only masjid serving the Muslim community in Cartagena.
For years, the masjid's main founder carried much of the financial responsibility of keeping its doors open. He has now stepped down and is no longer able to continue supporting the masjid.
Imam Umar has taken over this responsibility, but he is facing a tremendous challenge. The masjid's rent alone is approximately $3,000 per month, and the local Muslim community has struggled to raise enough to cover this expense.
 
Today, Imam Umar is asking the Ummah for help.
This masjid is more than a rented building. It is a place where Muslims gather for salah, where the Qur'an is recited and taught, where people learn about Islam, and where a small Muslim community can come together as one.
 
We cannot allow financial hardship to close the doors of the only masjid in Cartagena.
We are asking everyone to help in whatever way Allah has made possible for you. Whether it is $10, $25, $50, $100, or more, every contribution brings Masjid Muhammad closer to covering its rent and keeping its doors open.
